Jordprovtagning i Nevada: frekvens, area, djup och kärnprovtagning

Hur ofta behöver man ta jordprover i Nevada?

  • University of Nevada, Reno Extension sampling advice Official guidance Every 2 to 3 years for most crops. Before each crop for high-value cash crops. Sandy soils every 2 to 3 years, clay soils every 3 to 4 years. Every year where earlier tests showed levels too high or too low.

Hur djupt bör jordprover tas i Nevada?

  • University of Nevada, Reno Extension sampling advice Official guidance 15 cm (6 inches) for shallow-rooted crops, 30 cm (12 inches) for deep-rooted crops. In some cases on light-textured soils where nutrients leach, separate deeper samples from 15 to 60 cm (6 to 24 inches) for available nitrogen and sulfur.

The wording in the source

Timing

Method

  • Soil samples should be collected by dividing the field into similar units or blocks based upon differences in the soil. These differences could be in color, soil types, slope, drainage, degree of erosion, prior management, different crop or manure history, etc.

    FS-19-17, Soil sample collection

  • For uniform fields, a simple random pattern across the field should be used to collect at least 15 to 20 soil cores to equal depths.

    FS-19-17, Soil sample collection

Depth

  • Then, dig down to a plough depth of 15 cm (6 inches) for shallow-rooted crops and 30 cm (12 inches) for deep-rooted crops (Figure 5).

    FS-19-17, Basic steps

  • in light-texture soils, where excessive leaching of nutrients occurs, separate deeper samples, down to 15-60 cm (6-24 inches), should be collected and analyzed to determine available nitrogen and sulfur in some cases

    FS-19-17, Basic steps

Cores

  • Several random samples should be collected from each area of each unit or block (two or three subsamples per acre) in a zigzag pattern (Figure 4).

    FS-19-17, Soil sample collection

  • For uniform fields, a simple random pattern across the field should be used to collect at least 15 to 20 soil cores to equal depths.
