De kan vara en kombination av en stor andel andra element (joner) s\u00e5som Na+, Ca+2, K+, Mg+2, Cl-, NO3-, SO4-2, HCO3- och CO32-.<\/p>\r\n<p>Deras ursprung kommer vanligtvis fr\u00e5n berggrundsmaterialet som, under inverkan av vittring, l\u00f6ses upp i vatten, transporteras bort och avs\u00e4tts i jordm\u00e5n, grundvatten och stora vattendrag (hav och oceaner).<\/p>\r\n<h2>Effekter av markens salthalt p\u00e5 v\u00e4xter<\/h2>\r\n<p>En h\u00f6g koncentration av salter i jorden leder till st\u00f6rningar av den osmotiska potentialen i v\u00e4xtens celler, s\u00e4rskilt i rotzonen.
